The Story

The centaur archer appears in Greek mythology as a figure of contradiction — half human, half horse, capable of both civilization and wildness. Chiron, the most famous centaur, was a healer, a teacher, a philosopher. He trained Achilles and Asclepius. He was also immortal, and chose to give up that immortality to end his suffering. The archer who aims at the sky is not simply a zodiac symbol. It is a figure that has always carried the tension between instinct and intention.

This pendant places the Sagittarius centaur — bow drawn, arrow aimed upward — at the center of a coin face, hand-cut and surrounded by the E Pluribus Unum inscription. Each piece is hand-cut.

What It Represents

The Archer’s Aim

Sagittarius is the sign of the philosopher and the wanderer — the one who aims beyond the horizon not because the target is visible, but because standing still is not an option.

The Centaur’s Duality

The centaur body encodes the tension that defines Sagittarius: animal drive and human aspiration, existing in the same form, pointed in the same direction.

Mythology as Personal Symbol

Zodiac symbolism functions as a language of self-description. Wearing Sagittarius is not superstition — it is a shorthand for a particular relationship to freedom, movement, and the refusal to be contained.

Design Highlights

  • Sagittarius centaur hand-cut at center — bow drawn, arrow aimed upward, figure in full relief
  • E Pluribus Unum inscription and date on the coin border, star detail running the circumference
  • Four-prong open coin setting — no drilling or soldering on the coin; can be removed and kept as a collectible
  • Skull bail cast separately above the frame; coin diameter 38 mm (approx. 1.5 in); box chain included

Aging & Patina

Hand-cut from a modern hobo-style coin replica and individually polished by hand. The silver-plated copper surface is designed to develop a unique vintage patina over time — making each piece a personal relic rather than a mass-produced accessory.

Styling Suggestions

  • Worn alone over black or dark neutral — the centaur reads at distance, the coin inscription rewards a closer look
  • Layered with a longer chain or other symbolic pendants for a mythology-influenced dark stack
  • With dark academic, alternative, or heritage styling where personal symbolism is worn as identity
  • For Sagittarius placements, mythology collectors, or anyone drawn to the archer archetype

RING SIZE GUIDE

Find your perfect fit — before the ring finds you.

♦ ♦ ♦
Step 1 - Measure with ruler 01

Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string. Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger.

Step 2 - Mark the overlap 02

Mark the point where the paper or string overlaps with a pen. This marks your finger's circumference.

Step 3 - Read your size 03

Lay your string flat and measure the distance between the marks in millimeters.

OPEN BAND RINGS

Select Veilhinge rings feature an open band design and can be gently adjusted ±1 size from their original shipped size for a comfortable fit. To avoid metal fatigue, we recommend minimal and gradual adjustment — do not bend the band back and forth repeatedly.

SIZING TIPS

Measure at the end of the day — fingers are slightly larger then, giving you the most comfortable fit.

If you're between sizes, size up for a more comfortable wear.

Knuckle larger than the base of your finger? Measure both and choose a size in between.
